… is the project’s Principal Investigator. He is Full Professor and Department Chair of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in sociology of arts & culture and economic sociology.
Kristina Kolbe
… used to be Post-Doc in the project and is now an Assistant Professor in Sociology of Arts and Culture at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC) at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She joined ESHCC after completing her PhD in Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Johannes Aengenheyster
… is a PhD researcher in the Cultural Sociology programme group at the Sociology Department at the University of Amsterdam. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from University College Maastricht (Netherlands) and a Master of Science (cum laude) from the University of Amsterdam. His research investigates the development of the population of private museums in terms of openings and closings, as well as their influence in the canonization of artists.
Andrea Friedmann Rozenbaum
… is a Sociology PhD researcher at the University of Amsterdam. She holds a Master’s in Cultural and Social Anthropology (UvA, NL) and a BA in Media Studies (ESPM, Brazil). Before her academic path in the social sciences, Andrea worked in qualitative market research for over ten years. Her research investigates Brazilian contemporary art private museums by examining the perspectives and engagement of various actors involved with such institutions.
Márton Gera
… was a research assistant in the project, while being a student in the Research Master Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. He is also a Teaching Assistant in the Computational Social Science (CSSci) program at the university and the Amsterdam Business School (ABS). As a co-author, Marton has been contributing to a study on private art museum closures and e-cigarette regulations in the European Union.
Mingxue Zhang
… was a PhD student for one year in the department of sociology at the University of Amsterdam where her research focused on the development of private museums for contemporary art in China. She finished her bachelor’s management degree in Hainan university and master’s anthropology degree in Sun Yat-sen University, China.
